Hi, I'm Sarah! I'm so glad you found me.
I’m a doula, hypnobirthing teacher, mum of two and all round birth geek.
I work with people who want to take charge of their birth experience and make it a positive one. So if you want to be prepared, empowered and educated then get in touch and let’s make it happen!
What Do I Do?
What do I do?
After a fairly traumatic first birth I was looking for a doula to provide some support to both me and my husband second time around. Sarah understood exactly what we needed and was really reassuring and positive throughout my pregnancy. She gave me the confidence to stand up for myself in meetings with consultants meaning I avoided early induction and ultimately had the natural birth I so wanted and had missed out on first time around. At the birth Sarah was a wonderful support to me and to my husband -saying and doing all the right things at the right time, without taking over. I am so glad she was there for us and I can't recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Sarah.
A Little More About Me
MY PASSION IS BIRTH SUPPORT & EDUCATION.
Why do I do what I do?
Well, after having two children myself and experiencing first-hand the difference that having the right support and education makes, I felt drawn to become a doula and help other people get the best from their own birth experiences.
We're strong, we're capable and we're resilient but we've been drip-fed fear and negativity around childbirth, and scrutinised and criticised for our parenting choices for far too long. It's time for a change!
My super powers...
Since my original doula training in 2009, I continue to develop my skills and knowledge wherever possible by reading and attending courses whenever I can.
I am a certified Active Birth teacher and Calm Birth School Hypobirthing instructor.
I'm really proud of my facebook group, One Bump or Two which I started with just a handful of members and have since grown to over 2.5k
I am also an active member of Doula UK and have been for many years, I'm currently a Regional Rep and Doula Mentor.
But, who am I?
Well, before I was a birth-geek I was a new mum. Before that I was a retail manager, before that I was a florist and before that? Well, you'll have to ask me about that when we get to know each other better (but I will tell you it involved lots of mud...)
In my spare time when I'm not working or negotiating with my teenagers, you may find me walking my beloved hound (an elderly whippet called Salsa) sitting on my bum at my beach-hut or out on my paddle-board.
In case you're wondering I'm not a hippy, I don't wear socks and sandals but I do ocassionally hug trees, I am very partial to a gin and tonic (make it a double please) I LOVE coffee, a lot and also maltesers but more importantly I really want everyone to have the best birth experience they can, that's my real "fire in my belly" passion.
If that sounds good to you, give me a call and let's get this show on the road!
